How is  everyone edoing today,if you checkout youtube  you will find 3 videos,all put on their by  my publicist  Judy shannon .two  these videos" party town" and "picture of you"were written by  my good friend Bill Starrett from Austin Texas.I am wrting a few new songs  in between a busy school schedule. School is a means to an end.Hopefully I'll gain a job  that can afford  me some money for recording Equipment  and a small med room PA system.other than that ,lifes awesome.

Life is So awesome!

I haven't been writing much lately. For many of you who know me I apologize for that I've been very busy. I recently took a trip to Austin Texas to visit  recording artist Lou Watson. While in Austin happend to meet a very good songwriter and good friend Bill Starrett who wrote four songs on my first album. The songs are: Picture of You, Wasting Time, One Too Many Times and Party Town. Each of the songs are getting airplay on www.spaceoastiradio.com . I appreciate very much the opportunity that Jimmy Lawson and Judy Shannon his sister-in-law have given me. I also would like to thank my sister-in-law Liz Haley for all her efforts helping me with my website and encouragement through the years.
I was looking online the other day and saw  my video" Looking through the window through the pain" on "youtube", a beautiful video done by Judy Shannon . I have always said "Never give up on your dreams. "My dreams as a young child in leg braces, was to be "Normal". Having a disability like Cerebral Palsy as mild as it is still in a field such as music and entertaining has been anything but easy .At 52, I still have that dream of performing on stages and on tour full-time. Shortly another video"Picture of You" written by Bill Starrett will be coming out on"YouTube",  Being persistent and allowing people to help me has always been difficult for me. Life is awesome ,life is hard , faith in yourself takes years to have when so many didn't believe in me and my dreams. Most of those people
now are seeing this dream becoming a reality.

Patience,Determination and Believing You Can !

For years I heard from many learned adults , some were teachers , some were in the social services /humane services field say to me "Your a Dreamer"I am ..... and have been steadily going forward on my own after my dream.I have also had a few friends not so educated but extremely wise and genuine say to me "Your Dreams are what make you who you are". I have often wondered if any of those degree'd people ever had or have dreams ? My dreams, one by one have unfolded slowly over the years. As a young boy,I wanted to sing like Glen Campbell my Idol and make my living as a singer and songwriter.I have made money playing and singing over the years.I have also seen the downside of this music business (Full of Pimps ,Thieves and Users).I still forged ahead,sacrificed a marriage and several relationships. In 36 years of of trying to get Noticed I find I am known in the music business by some heavy hitters.my music is on Internet radio live 365 and also www.spacecoastiradio.com .
In 6 days I will be In Austin Texas,working with Lou Watson and networking and laying the ground work for his latest project and setting up a tour down the road.I have been looking for Lou for the last 20 years.His album is doing quite well on the Country Indie Charts at # 1,His single is in the top 20 on the country Indie charts.Lou Watson and I never gave up on our friendship and our common dreams. It's been a year of .......................................

all in all 2011 has been awesome.I always say "Never give up or give in ,go after your dreams".People who do not dream ,do not acquire the true rewards of a good life :a sense of accomplishment.My Cerebral Palsy is an inconvenience,I just have to work harder at achieving my dreams and goals then the average guy.That's why I'm a resilient man.

Its Been Awhile Since

I was just going over an old blog,mostly about being discouraged by a lack of Governmental Understanding.Having moved on in both my circumstances and residence,I realize most People are too busy,scared economically to show any concern for those less fortunate.I believe this is not due to un-caring but more from frustration in dealing with bad economic times .
Most People who are Challenged due to Cerebral Palsy or other developmental diagnosis,do not fear the Economic bad times,not because we don't deal with it ,we do..... .For me I Have Always Had Economic difficulty.Education hasn't been a strong suit of mine,having L.D.(learning disability)and Some moderate Cognitive delays,not notice Right off.

My Musical ability is my saving grace,my sanity in a world that doesn't tolerate imperfection.
Our Society is about aptitude,power and ability.Look at Sports, Media and the business world,a dog eat dog environment. My Musical ability is a gift from above.Yet The music business is expensive and very hard to get into for the( normal ?) artist.For Anyone like me its almost impossible.I didn't have a great deal of family support growing up.My father was a "realist "
I was discouraged in pursuing the one thing I was good at and I guess in his mind coming from the depression My dreams weren't anything that could translate into a sustainable living.
What is for sure in this day and age?The 20 yr. job for the company and a Gold Watch ,has long since vanished.We don't care about helping others if it means a sacrifice of ,time or money.
I have come to except that equal treatment or Equality is about Money.Lets look at U.C.P (United Cerebral Palsy foundation)I have been to their site and e-mailed them , signed up and all I get is an email to donate more money!.I have seen their articles about actors sponsoring charity drives and events yet nowhere do I see an actual phone# or any advocacy for those of us who should be getting help from this organization.
In closing If there is anyone Close to the director of U.C .P.or involved with the Dept. of Disabilities(federal or State of Ca.) I would appreciate Some constructive guidance and help in making a living preferably in the music business. my website is donhaleymusic.com

I hope this blog is thought provoking,I remember a President once saying "Don't ask what the country can do for you but what can you do for this country" (JFK )I have never forgotten that Quotation.It symbolizes to me what we should be as a People of America.
It Has been awhile since......I have been given a chance to pursue my dreams as equally as those of minority.Maybe being differently-abled is just to hard for people to understand that we are capable if given a legitimate chance with accommodation and guidance.

where r the concerned readers and friends?

What does it take ,to reach out ? I hear so many people talk about ,caring for those less fortunate,disabled or differently challenged and have in two years summized that Our society is one of such power and yet our leaders and those groups who recieve money have failed the people they have sworn and are mandated to help in 6there mission statements and election campaign speeches.I'm fed up with writing my thoughts and feelings to these blogs ,with no responses.Whats the point?
Actions get things done ,words only educate or are supposed to.When was the last time A GOVERNMENT PERSON ACTUALLY HAD A PERSON GET ON THE BLOG SITE HERE AT GOGGLE OR DASHBOARD AND CHECK TO SEE THOSE OF US WHO ACTUALLY DO WANT FEEDBACK AND ADVICE .
I doubt My blogs have been read at all except by my family.Soi I am probably going to not write much until someome wants me too.I am a educated person and could teach and have taught Gov. people how to think of alternate ways to employ thgedisabled but it costs to much and We cant take away the money for new sports arenas or the new museums that only the wealthy would attend.
